Description of Vacancy

We are Fire Suppression specialists that install a smarter and more modern alternative to your average fire sprinkler.

We will require you to gain a full knowledge of our systems in order to advise our customers and provide support to our installation team. You will be involved in all aspects of office administration and will provide excellent service to our customers, suppliers and staff alike.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Create full proposals, designs & quotations
  • Liaise with customers via telephone/email
  • Creating on-site drawings
  • Telephone front of house
  • Sending and replying to emails professionally
  • Scheduling
  • Basic Marketing
  • Basic sales
  • Providing support for all members of the office team
  • Support and build rapport with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
  • Manage diaries
  • Book appointments
  • All general administration responsibilities

You will need to be able to travel to and from our office in Upnor, so being local would be advantageous but not essential.

Wage

£158.40 per week

Hours

Monday – Friday 9am – 3pm

Half hour per day lunch break

20% paid time during working hours is given to complete training, referred to as "Off the Job Training"

Qualifications Required

GCSE Grade 9 - 4 (or A - C) in English and Maths as a minimum. Or equivalent qualifications in these subjects. GCSE Grade 9-4 (or A-C) in Science would be an advantage.

Training Provided

On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Standard - Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector. The role may involve working independently and as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services. Business administrators develop key skills and behaviours to support their own progression towards management responsibilities.


Regular work-based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, together with virtual training sessions and action plans, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.

Additional Detail

As of 1st April 2024, the NMW for Apprentices is £6.40 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
