Description of Vacancy

We are looking for an apprentice who would like to complete their Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship with a company who are offering them a varied work life, you will be able to engage with various different departments within the company, enabling you to have a complete 360 overview, attention to detail is of paramount importance, as we are continually providing tenders to large companies, as well as local authorities.

Responsibilities

Answering the phone, being the first point of contact to visitors, producing tenders, dealing with incoming/outgoing post. Photocopying, binding, electronic filing and archiving. Ordering weekly shopping, assisting with meeting arrangements, manage stationary stock, and keeping all stock sheets up to date, and any general ad hoc duties to provide support to the whole team as required.

Wage

£7.55 per hour which will increase to £9.55 per hour upon successful completion of a 6 month probationary period.

£283.13 per week.

25 days holiday per year, plus your birthday off, (3 days to be used to cover the Christmas shutdown)

Hours

Monday 9am – 5.30pm 1 hour for lunch unpaid

Tuesday 9am – 5.30pm 1 hour for lunch unpaid

Wednesday 9am – 5.30pm – 1 hour for lunch unpaid

Thursday 9am – 5.30pm – 1 hour for lunch unpaid

Friday 9am – 5.30pm – 1 hour for lunch unpaid

6 hours of obligatory training to be agreed week on week

Qualifications Required

GCSE Grade 9 - 4 (or A - C) in English and Maths as a minimum. Or equivalent qualifications in these subjects.

Training Provided

On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Standard - Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike; from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector. The role may involve working independently and as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services. Business administrators develop key skills and behaviours to support their own progression towards management responsibilities.


Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, together with virtual training sessions and action plans, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.

Our programme offers a blended curriculum combining engaging online courses with adapted 1:1 support from a dedicated tutor. This tutor collaborates with both apprentices and employers to create a tailored programme designed to support your progression. You'll benefit from at least 6 hours of weekly training or study time during your working hours.

Additional Detail

As of 1st April 2025, the NMW for Apprentices is £7.55 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
