VACANCY DESCRIPTION

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Warehouse & Production Apprentices to join an established company in Broadstairs who specialise in the manufacture and packaging of craft beverages.

This key role supports the whole organisation, with accountability for day to day stock management, warehousing and logistics.  You will gain experience of a wide range of tasks and responsibilities whilst working towards the Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Standard.  This will include an opportunity to be forklift and pallet stacker trained.

Duties to include:

  • Assist with procurement to ensure a smooth production process, avoiding both shortfalls and overstocking of inventory.
  • Ensuring all goods in are documented in line with company policy and discrepancies flagged and resolved promptly.
  • Assisting the transport manager with arranging and monitoring third party transport arrangements to ensure that production and customer service is as efficient as possible, while minimising time in transit.
  • Completing documentation with hauliers
  • Helping to relocate goods within the site to ensure efficiency of operations.
  • Perform monthly stock counts and investigate and document adjustments, with particular to attention paid for duty records.
  • Physically move stock, with support assistance from production teams where appropriate, within existing warehouse space.
  • Accurately process and record all documentation into and out of our warehouse relating to dutiable good. Identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Plan and implement efficient warehousing and space optimisation (current and future). Actively contribute to long term space planning activities with Logistics/Warehouse Manager and Production team.
  • Record and report movements to customers owned stock (consumables) with support from production team
  • Support Production team with arranging breaks and cover to maintain efficiency on production floor

WAGE

£200 per week with the option of overtime

HOURS

37.5 working hours per week between Monday to Friday.  Will include combination of early (06:30 – 14:30) and late (14:00 – 22:00) shifts to be agreed in an advance.

Includes a half-hour (paid) lunchbreak each day

SKILLS REQUIRED

The successful candidate should have good planning / organisational skills and a basic understanding of Excel and Word.

Good timekeeping skills.

PERSONAL QUALITIES

The successful candidate should be a good team player, proactive, and have excellent attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Minimum grade C/4 in English and Maths GCSE or equivalent

TRAINING PROVIDED

On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards

Additional Detail

As of 1st April 2019, the NMW for Apprentices is £3.90 per hour. This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.

Important Information
