The ideal candidate will support housing officers in the delivery of key housing management functions and assist in the delivery of a customer focussed frontline housing service. DESCRIPTION OF VACANCY

An opportunity to gain valuable experience within a busy Local Authority Housing department. The post holder will support the day to day running of the Housing Management Team helping to provide a first point of contact for telephone enquiries from the Council’s tenants some of whom may be vulnerable and distressed making a positive confident customer focussed attitude essential. Further duties include minute taking at meetings and for visits undertaken by housing officers, assisting with processing forms for anti-social behaviour, mutual exchanges, and alterations of premises. Additionally updating databases and monitoring spreadsheets for ASB, scanning and processing incoming post, answering emails and preparation of standard letters and forms under the direction of the Senior Housing Officer.

WAGE

£159.10 per week

HOURS

Monday to Thursday

8.45 – 5.15

Friday

8.45 – 4.45

20% paid time during working hours is given to complete training, referred to as “Off the Job Training”

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

GCSE Grade 9 – 4 (or A – C) in English and Maths. Or equivalent qualifications in these subjects.

TRAINING PROVIDED

On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Standard – Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike; from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector. The role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services. Business administrators develop key skills and behaviours to support their own progression towards management responsibilities.

Additional Detail

As of 1st April 2021, the NMW for Apprentices is £4.30 per hour. This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.

Important Information
