Employer Description

Based in the picturesque village of St. Margaret’s-at-Cliffe near Dover, Mayfield Financial Services are fully qualified financial advisors providing financial planning advice to retail, professional and corporate clients. Our three advisors are supported by a team of paraplanners and administrators.

Travel Information

Martin Mill Train Station is a 25 minute walk away however having a car would be best.

Vacancy Description

Work as part of a team providing clients with a professional experience by providing administrative support in line with the FCA requirements.


Respond to Telephone/ email enquiries

Sort and distribute incoming post and organise outgoing post.

Create and maintain filing systems/ client files

Arrange meetings/ book appointments

Update and maintain the firm’s records/registers as required

Update and maintain the firm’s diary system

Submitting new business

Compiling invoices

Ordering and maintaining stationery and equipment supplies

Liaising with product providers/ mortgage lenders, as and when necessary.

Comply at all times with the firm’s Compliance, Training & Competence, Complaints and Data Security policies/ procedures

To ensure the firm’s clients are treated fairly at all times

Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills


£4 p/h with a review after the initial 6 weeks.


Monday – Friday

10AM – 5 PM (1 hour lunch unpaid)

Skills Required

Clear written and oral communication

Computer Literate and competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Personal Qualities

Ability to work as part of a team.

Methodical and organised

Able to work accurately with good attention to detail

Qualifications Required

A-C GCSE in Maths & English

Training Provided

On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Standard – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.

Additional Detail

As of 1st April 2018, the NMW for Apprentices is £3.70 per hour. This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.

Important Information

Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
