Description of Vacancy

They are looking for someone who is a good organiser and keen to develop their administration skills to assist in various areas of the practice.

The position will be based within the HR Team although will cover other support duties across teams in the business, thereby giving the successful candidate a thorough understanding of a range of HR, Finance and administration activities.

This is a varied and busy role. The applicant will assist in all areas of business administration but will be based in the HR department and report to the HR team.

Duties will include:

  • General assistance to the HR Administrator/Office Manager with any ad-hoc tasks
  • Purchase ledger assistance (including staff business expense claims)
  • General assistance to the Senior Financial Accountant with any ad-hoc tasks as required
  • Archiving prior year documentation
  • Help organise office events
  • Organise lunches and other catering events for client visits and employee meetings
  • Book international travel for employers
  • Provide reception services
  • Handle mail
  • Answering the main line
  • File contracts and help maintain tracker
  • Ordering office supplies and office snacks
  • Booking couriers as required for office/events
  • Produce minutes in meetings


£200 per week


Monday – Friday 9am to 5:30pm with a 1 hour lunch break unpaid (37.5 hours)

Skills Required

  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone
  • Be able to maintain confidential information
  • Be able to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with information
  • Proficiency with general office PC applications (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint) and comfort with learning new applications as required.
  • Team player mentality with a desire to make an impact in a growing company
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

Qualifications Required

Maths & English GCSE Grade 4/C or above or equivalent Qualification

Training Provided

On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.


Additional Detail

As of 1st April 2019, the NMW for Apprentices is £3.90 per hour. This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
