DESCRIPTION OF VACANCY
This is a great opportunity to join a company who have not only won multiple awards for their work, but have an impressive history of supporting their staff to thrive. Their work is incredibly important at the moment, as they work towards creating testing kits to diagnose COVID 19.
As the Apprentice Office Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the wider work of the company. You will have the opportunity to learn a wide range of administrative skills which will support you throughout the rest of your career, from assistance with spreadsheets to helping out with social media accounts.

Tasks will include – but are not limited to – the following:
– Meeting and greeting visitors and offering refreshments
– Helping to boost online presence through company social media outlets
-Updating all relevant spreadsheets and databases
– Photocopying documents and filing accordingly
– Managing the replenishment of stationery supplies
– Assisting with incoming queries over telephone and e-mail
– Helping to manage and coordinate staff diaries
– Occasional PA duties to the Managing Director
– Sending requested information out to customers
– Processing and chasing invoices
– Following up with customers
37.5 working hours per week:
Monday – Friday 08:30 – 16:30
Includes an half hour unpaid lunch break each day
£153.75 (based on £4.10 per hour)
- Good communication skills, both verbally (including telephone) and in writing
- Good time management skills
- Good attention to detail
The successful candidate should be enthusiastic, ambitious, and happy to work in a team to achieve team targets.
We are looking for somebody who is also willing to be flexible in their approach, and happy to learn new things.
Minimum achieved Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
As of 1st April 2020, the NMW for Apprentices is £4.15 per hour. This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
The employer has asked that you do not contact them direct. Doing so could jeopardise your application. You will be responsible for your travel expenses to and from your place of work.
