CEO’s see skills shortages as a threat to growth plans
A new study of the views of 1,344 CEOs across 68 countries worldwide suggests the UK’s business leaders are increasingly concerned about Western Europe’s skills shortages, believing them to be the number one threat to growth plans.
According to the international professional services firm, PWC’s report, The talent challenge: Adapting to growth, businesses and their leaders face questions about their future talent pipelines and human capital strategy. Changes in global trends change the talent landscape as world economies look towards growth.
The report highlighted 63% of CEOs are concerned about the availability of skills at a time where the supply of talent is shifting when demand is increasing. As more CEOs will be hiring more skilled staff in the next 12 months, competition for talent will become intense and labour costs will rise in growing markets.
